Water pollution has become a greater concern to Canadians in the last decade. No longer are people taking their drinking water for granted.

There is an ever increasing amount of industrial toxic waste and insufficiently treated sewage being pumped into our lakes and rivers. As such, water from the public water systems and even from many wells is likely to be loaded with poisonous chemicals and toxic trace elements. The tap water that we drink originates from these polluted lakes and rivers. Since this water has been treated at the local plant, we assume that it has been purified, and that all contaminants have been removed. However, many harmful pollutants and water borne diseases are still present in our treated tap water.

"Our tap water is treated only to minimum standards, by sedimentation, filtration, chemical conditioning and disinfection with chlorine."
Dr. Michael Colgan, Optimum Sports Nutrition.

Many cities do not possess the technology necessary to completely remove all of the contaminants present in our water. This, of course, can have serious consequences to our health. According to a recent World Health Organization report, "a substantial portion of disease outbreaks can be attributed to deficiencies in drinking water disinfection". According to Canadian Nutrition Guide, "contaminants in drinking water have the potential to cause health effects ranging from colds and flu to death from cancer".

Current national statistics prove there is a genuine demand for clean, unadulterated water. While one out of every 18 people have turned to bottled water as a temporary alternative, they are becoming dissatisfied with the quality, expense and inconvenience. With distilled water, unlike Reverse Osmosis and other filters, the quality and purity of water produced does not deteriorate. Distillation always keeps it the same.

For centuries, distilled water has been the standard for water purity throughout the world. Distilled water continues to be the most reliable method of water purification. By vaporizing tap water, allowing it to move upward as steam and then condensing it back to water, distillation kills and removes harmful bacteria, viruses and inorganic minerals, and dangerous chemicals that make water unhealthy, unsightly and unpleasant to drink.
